Upcycling a bird into a horse

Have you ever seen one of these wooden birds on strings and you can make it fly by pulling the bottom most string? I had one of those. Can’t even remember where I got it. But at some point one of the threads broke and I put it away to fix it.
Years went by. And in one of the purge sessions I found it in the garbage and of course I could not get rid of it, it just had the fishing line snapped, that’s easy enough.
But of course I felt like that was too easy, I wanted to spruce it up, change the look. I finally had inspiration from this ancient folder from my childhood!
I decided I can use the foam clay to mold the shape and then paint it like the image. So I got started. I used to draw horses all the time, so I felt like I had a good idea about the anatomy. I used to other people’s projects and photos to help.
